For Pokémon fans stateside, there is still a midnight launch event planned for New York City.Longtime players of the pokémon games have been outspoken recently with their criticism of the upcoming installments to the franchise. Mainly, the culling of the pokémon that will be available in the games.
The outcry was strong enough that Junichi Masuda, producer, made a statement assuring that even if a pokémon is not in Pokémon Sword and Shield, it “does not mean it will not appear in future games.”
Earlier this year in Japan, Square Enix canceled several tournaments after death threats were made against its staff.
